Exciting News: Gippsland’s First Ever Secondary School Cricket Academy is Coming to Warragul Regional College in 2025!

Warragul Regional College is thrilled to announce the launch of Gippsland’s first-ever Cricket Academy, starting in 2025! This exclusive 5-year program, in partnership with Academy Movement, Cricket Victoria, and the Melbourne Stars, will offer an unmatched opportunity for students passionate about cricket and sports.

The Cricket Academy will run from Year 8 to Year 12, combining cricket training with an enriching curriculum focused on health, fitness, and valuable cross-curricular skills. It’s not just about excelling on the field — students will also gain professional qualifications in areas like coaching, umpiring, and sports training, ensuring they’re well-prepared for a wide range of career opportunities. By Year 11 and 12, participants will also complete a Certificate III in Sport and Recreation, opening doors to sports traineeships and Bachelor-level qualifications.

Starting in 2025, we will welcome Year 8 students, as well as a combined Year 9-10 class, with training sessions integrated into regular school hours. All students enrolling in 2025 will have the unique opportunity to complete the entire program through to Year 12.
