YEAR 8
In year 8, students begin to explore more of their interests, develop independence, and take greater ownership of their learning journey. It is a year full of opportunity, growth, and hands-on experiences – both inside and outside of the classroom.
Expanding Learning Through Electives
Year 8 marks the exciting introduction of elective subjects, giving students a chance to dive deeper into the areas they enjoy most. Electives are designed to support creativity, critical thinking and curiosity. Some examples include:
- Food technology
- Visual Art
- Rock Band
- Cricket Academy
- Agriculture
Electives allow students to personalise their learning while gaining valuable skills and developing new passions.
Year 8 students continue to be supported through strong teacher-student relationships, access to wellbeing services, and regular check-ins to ensure they’re progressing confidently in their schooling.
